Project:
Movement Lab
Research shows that physical movement stimulates areas of the brain for memory, attention, and focus. It can also prove to increase student motivation and help to de-stress. The Movement Lab creates a kinesthetic classroom that will be accessible for all students and grade levels at school. The classroom will include a variety of movement and exercise equipment along with curriculum posters, flash cards, and technology devices that are designed to actively engage students in learning. Teachers can use the lab on a regular basis for movement-based lessons and activities to provide brain-based opportunities for their students to learn. The goal of this project is to increase the number of students reading on or above grade level and increase student motivation and confidence in learning, as well.
